More time....
I am finding myself with something to do just about every minute of every day. And I'm not sleeping at night, I'm skipping meals and eating on the run - literally in the car on my way here or there. I wake up in the mornings exhausted and feeling like I need to catch up from the day before. But now the day before is turning into the week before, soon it will be the month before. My goal this week is to try and carve one extra hour into my day. I am going to pick 6 things that I do everyday and shorten each thing by 10 minutes. I started Saturday by taking the stall wall down so it is one big run-in shed now. I made the paddock that is in front of the run-in bigger. This will eliminate dealing with gates and separating them in the evenings and make it easier in the early mornings before I go to work. They have hay available to them around the clock so now it will just be a quick water change and open the gate. Today I started catching up on laundry. My goal with this is to have 5 days of laundry for all of us clean and ready on Sundays. I also finally wrote down a daily chore list for Marissa and it is on the refrigerator. It is now her responsibility to check it everyday and get them done. She is also going to be responsible for cooking 1 dinner a week. Whatever she cooks is up to her, she will make me a list and I'll go get it. Tomorrow I'll start getting caught up on baking dog biscuits for the stores and hopefully have at least 2 weeks worth on the shelf. I'll also start working on a plan for the office. That one is going to take some thought.....I see a bookkeeper in my future! :)

A bookkeeper? Did you call my name? LOL
It's been awhile since I read blogs, so nice to catch up a bit with you and your musings.
Do you want to learn bookkeeping or have someone else do it for you?
A little of both I think. Well, really have somebody do it for me. I'm not very good at it or do I enjoy it. So now that I have another part time job I think I need somebody to keep quickbooks up to date for me and organize me. It would be better for my sanity and the company to have a person better qualified to do this!:) Even if it was just once a month to keep everything on track. Do you know somebody who could possibly help me with this situation?
Me if it can be done at a distance. If not, I'll give it a think for someone local to you. :-)
I really wish you were closer! I am going to need somebody to come into the office and spend some time with me to get everything on track and caught up. And then I think it will be on an as needed basis maybe? I'm not sure yet. I would love your help with Chance too, as soon as the footing is better. I'm trying to decide what my next step with him is, not sure what clinics to take him to, etc. I guess it will all fall into place as the weather gets better!
Yes, living closer would be lovely... How backlogged in the office are you? A day's worth? More? Is this something you will continue with once it's set up?
Do your best to schedule some time to audit Mark Rashid when he's near Plymouth, NH in May. He is sooo worth it! ;-)
I'm at least a day's worth behind, more I think. I'm trying to wrap my mind around it and I can't. That's half the problem. The ideal situation would be to get a good system running and maintain it myself. I don't know if that's realistic though. I don't think there is enough here to keep you as busy as I think you want. I've got to go to work, maybe we should talk? My # is 207-247-3967. I'll be home today between 11:00 and 1:00.
Hi, I obviously didn't call because I didn't get back here until today. Busy times, and a few job interviews so this is GOOD busy! I hope you connected with the local bookkeeper someone recommended, and I look forward to some together time with you and horses sometime in 2009! Emailing directly like you did is best if you want/need a quick reply. I'm sporadic about checking blogs these days!
